学校がっこうの帰かえり道みち、どんぐりを見みつけました。
On my way home from school, I found an acorn.

道みちのすみに、一ひとつだけ落おちていました。
There was just one, lying at the edge of the path.

丸まるくて、つやつやしています。
It was round and shiny.

とてもきれいな形かたちです。
Its shape was very pretty.

私は、しゃがんで、そっと手てに取とりました。
I bent down and gently picked it up.

どこから転ころがってきたのかな。
I wondered where it had rolled from.

誰だれかに見みせたくて、ポケットに入いれました。
I wanted to show someone, so I put it in my pocket.

家いえに帰かえって、お母かあさんに見みせました。
When I got home, I showed it to my mom.

「かわいいね」と言いってくれて、嬉うれしくなりました。
She said, “It’s so cute,” and that made me happy.
