今夜こんやは、まんまるのお月つきさまでした。
Tonight, the moon was perfectly round.

空そらの真まん中なかで、静しずかに光ひかっていました。
It was shining quietly in the middle of the sky.

私は、ベランダに出でて、空そらを見みました。
I went out to the balcony and looked up at the sky.

「こんばんは、お月つきさま。」
“Good evening, Mr. Moon.”

私は、小ちいさな声こえで、独ひとり言ごとのように言いいました。
I said softly, like talking to myself.

お月つきさまは、何なにも言いいませんでした。
The moon said nothing.

でも、にっこり笑わらっているように見みえました。
But it looked like it was smiling at me.

私は、しばらく、その光ひかりを見みていました。
I watched its light for a while.

そして、「明日あしたも、きっといい日ひになる」と思おもいました。
And I thought, “Tomorrow will be a good day.”
