いすに座って、荷物の宛名を書いている人もいます。

「こんにちは」と迎えてくれた局員さんに、手紙を渡そうとして、
I was about to hand my letter to the staff member who greeted me with a smile —
少し迷ってから、風景印をお願いしました。
but after a moment’s hesitation, I asked for a pictorial postmark (a special postmark with a local design).
かすかにスタンプを押す音が聞こえました。
I could faintly hear the sound of the stamp being pressed.
外に出ると、空が少し広く見えました。
