学校がっこうかえみち、どんぐりをつけました。
On my way home from school, I found an acorn.

みちのすみに、ひとつだけちていました。
There was just one, lying at the edge of the path.

まるくて、つやつやしています。
It was round and shiny.

とてもきれいなかたちです。
Its shape was very pretty.

私は、しゃがんで、そっとりました。
I bent down and gently picked it up.

どこからころがってきたのかな。
I wondered where it had rolled from.

だれかにせたくて、ポケットにれました。
I wanted to show someone, so I put it in my pocket.

いえかえって、おかあさんにせました。
When I got home, I showed it to my mom.

「かわいいね」とってくれて、うれしくなりました。
She said, “It’s so cute,” and that made me happy.
