この季節になると、あちらこちらでツバメを見かけます。
Around this time of year, I see swallows everywhere.
今日も、駅のホームのすみに、小さな巣を見つけました。
Today too, I spotted a small nest in a corner of the station platform.
ツバメは、すばやく飛んでいっては、すぐに巣に戻ってきます。
The swallows fly off quickly and come right back to the nest.
よく見ると、巣の近くに、古い巣の形がいくつも残っています。
Looking closely, I can see several old nest shapes left nearby.
巣の下には、ダンボールが敷いてあります。
A piece of cardboard is laid out under the nest.
そして、手書きの紙が貼ってあります。
And there is a handwritten sign posted there.
「ツバメの巣があります。ご注意ください。」
“Swallow’s nest here. Please watch out.”
毎年、このホームでツバメが巣を作るのでしょう。
They probably build their nests on this platform every year.
今年も無事に巣立ちますように、と思いながら、 やってきた電車に乗り込みました。
Hoping they will leave the nest safely this year too, I boarded the incoming train.
